ERIE, Colo. – Colorado State’s Brianna Espinoza was able to move up the leader board at the NCAA west regional at Colorado National Golf Course on Friday. Espinoza started Day 2 tied for 54th but ended the day tied for 30th.
Despite tough weather conditions, Espinoza improved on her first-round score of 76 with a 73 (+1) putting her at 149 (+5) for the tournament.
“It was a cold and wet day, felt like we were in Seattle (2011 NCAA west regional) again,” said Head Coach Angie Collier . “Bri handled the conditions very well.”
Espinoza’s 26 pars for the tournament are fifth among the 126-player field. Collier commented on Espinoza’s consistent play.
“Bri hit 12 greens and was five-of-six on up and downs,” said Collier. “She played so solid and held her composure very well for the tough conditions we were playing in.”
