If you happen to have a friend with an iOS device, chances are they were a bit snobby last year, bragging about having exclusive access to one of the prettiest adventure games ever made. Bad news for them: That exclusivity has officially run out, now that Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP has dropped on Steam for PC.
The PC version is based off the iOS release, but has been redesigned to take advantage of the technological marvels of the two-button mouse. The visuals and audio mix have also received a touch-up with the release of the special edition.
As an added bonus, the Steam version comes with a full copy of Jim Guthrie's soundtrack, an aural treat if there ever was one.
Mac owners feeling left out in the cold that a port of Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP is making its way to your local Air, iMac or MacBook Pro. That release is planned for sometime "before the summer solstice," according to the developers. That's late June for you heathens out there.
News isn't as cheery for Android owners. Capybara's Nathan Vella informed us that there are no plans to bring the game to Android devices.
Sword& Sworcery + Dark Room + Noise Canceling Headphones = Win
Little else on the market is this inspired. Gave me the same giddy feeling I had in the late 1980s playing computer games for the first time on my old Tandy 1000.
