New Company Announcement: 643 Capital Management
Real estate investment firm focused on distressed debt and equity strategies
SAN FRANCISCO, Apr 05, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- 643 Capital Management, a private investment firm focused on debt and equity strategies in distressed real estate, announced its spinoff today from McKinley Capital Partners. The new company is led by former McKinley founder, Managing Director Gregor Watson, and will be joined by Watson’s acquisitions team, which has an established track record of acquiring over 500 homes. 643 will continue to invest on behalf of its institutional capital partners as well as a select group of family offices through the firm’s discretionary funds. 643’s team of more than 40 professionals has invested over $100 million in distressed signal family homes and the new firm will begin with over $100 million of assets under management.
“We are excited about the opportunity to grow our rental platform throughout the country, allowing us the ability to continue to run our current equity fund as well as look for new investment opportunities,” says Watson. “We’ve positioned 643 Capital Management to be one of the leaders in the distressed housing space. Pursuing our debt and equity platforms represents an opportunity to keep people in their homes as renters, stabilize neighborhoods and provide an attractive return for our investors.”
Emilian Halloran, Managing Director, joins Watson and other distressed debt team members to focus on short-term loans and other high yield debt opportunities. Principals of 643’s debt platform have managed over $1 billion in commercial, multi-family and institutional scale single-family real estate financing across the U.S. and the firm’s current debt fund covers ten states with a focus on mid-size $2-$15 million loans.
643 Capital Management is headquartered in the San Francisco Bay area with team members throughout the West Coast.
